2000 German National Championships

Kati Winkler and Rene Lohse clearly won the ice dance event on Sunday at Erika-Hess-Eisstadion in Berlin and successfully defended their title from last year.
It was the first time that the team showed the new - after the 1999 Sparkassen Cup on Ice changed and improved - Original Dance and Free Dance at a competition. Especially the slow part of the Free Dance now contains much more footwork and elements and the step sequences of the Original Dance were well synchronized. The audience did like both performances very much.
Kati Winkler & Rene Lohse are qualified for the European Championships from February 06-13, 2000, in Vienna Austria.
