Kati Winkler and René Lohse finish 3rd at the World Championships
Kati Winkler and René Lohse made a
dream come true. The ice dancers from Berlin managed
the biggest success of their career. In fourth after
the Original Dance, Kati and René won over Elena Grushina
and Ruslan Goncharov of Ukraine the Free Dance this
Friday (26.03.) at the World Championships in Dortmund
and got Bronze.
The received marks from 5.6 to 5.8 for technical merit
and from 5.7 to 6.0 for presentation.
"I barely can believe it, that it went so well for us.
That we received our first 6.0 for presentation and
that we got Bronze is unbelievable." said Kati Winkler
just after the free dance.

Kati Winkler and Rene Lohse are currently
in fourth position after the Original Dance at the World
Championships in Dortmund. They earned marks from 5.3
to 5.8 for required elements and from 5.4 to 5.8 for
presentation.
In front of 3000 enthusiastic spectators they delivered
a dynamic and rousing program to a medley of Swing,
Blues and Jive.
The European Champions Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov
of Russland are in first place, followed by Albena Denkova
and Maxim Staviski of Bulgaria and Elena Grushina and
Ruslan Goncharov of Ukraine.
"I felt very well on the ice, because we delivered a
great show to the audience", said Kati Winkler after
their program. The same way felt coach Martin Skotnicky,
who was already overjoyed after yesterday's performance
of his pupils.
Kati Winkler and René Lohse 2nd at Qualifying Group B at
the World Championships
The German Ice Dancing Champions Kati Winkler and René Lohse
are second in their qualifying group B. They delivered the compulsory
dance "Midnight Blues" very well and earned mark from 5.2 to
5.5 for technical elements and from 5.0 to 5.8 for presentation.
After the long break due to injury, that prevented them from
skating at the European Championships, they are now back on
international ice.
The European Champions Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov of
Russland took the lead in qualifying group B, Isabelle Delobel
and Olivier Schoenfelder of France are in third.
